SNMP and troubleshoot for Pingplotter


How to install SNMP in a computer


Step 1: Install “SNMP” to the pc, in the “search programs and files”, field, type “windows feature”. Click the Turn Windows features on or off.
Make sure to check the box of “Simple Network management Protocol (SNMP)” and the sub folder “WMI SNMP Provider”, this process is a pre-requisite to configure the Service in the next step.
Step 2: Type “Service” in the search field and choose “services”
If you’re having a difficulty in finding the “SNMP service” go back to step 2 and make sure you don’t skip anything on the process.
Step 3: After clicking the SNMP service, go to Security then add Community name.
Next, add the IP of PRTG Graph or your desired software to use then hit Add, if outside sonic wall disregard this step.
Make sure to put all the needed details in this area and Hit “Apply” then “ok”
Note:
Outside sonic wall pc will not acquired any IP from the graph, just make sure community name is added to the field and check the “Accept SNMP packets from any hosts”.
Make sure the local IP was set on the PC
Make sure that firewall is disable, before adding the IP
Step 4: Log-in on the SPICE WORKS
Username: abcd
Password: abcd
Step 5: Go to the Device, then click Add New Device. Select the Networking Device on ‘Add a Device to Monitor’

Step 6: Input the IP assigned on each PC, and hit the Add Device, rename the Device with the PC name. Do the same on all PC.

1. When you see the problem as example below:
2. Make sure the problem by testing yourself.
3. If problem is true, one person go to inform Operation and CSD, another one person prepare to unplug the ISP cable when needed.
4. Make sure Operation and others departments have Internet connection.
5. Call customer service of IPVG to report the problem.
6. Get print screen and highlight the problem as example below:
7. Write the email indicate the problem that we are facing and ask them when it can be solved. Please request them to send us the report as well.
8. Cc email to account manager, Mr. Wong, Mr. Lim, Mr Ong, Mr. Chua, Mr. Nan and Mr. Tan.
9. Send email to customer service of ISP along with report ticket number by using itsupport@itbna.net.
10. Get follow up the problem update from customer service of ISP every 10-15 minutes by phone call or email until it is back to normal.
